About me...

Hello, my name is Thomas and I’m a composer. Well, sort of anyway. I work as a designer (by day) and run my own company (by night) as well where I’m mostly a programmer so composing is like meditation to me, a chance to clear my head. I have no “real” formal training, I played the saxophone in the early years and have played keyboards in a few bands but that’s about it. I used to have a little MIDI-studio back in the late 90’s but circumstances made me sell all my gear.

When I discovered Garageband on my Mac a few years ago I felt the urge to take up composing again. Wow, had things changed in 10 years or what? Now there seems to be no end to the possibilities! Everything I dreamed of doing all those years ago is finally possible. Now I’m sitting with my dream, a complete symphonic orchestra at my fingertips, this is a good age to live in indeed. I’m so “sold” on this that I even enrolled in Berkleemusics Orchestration course last fall. Enjoyed it immensely and learned a great deal. The most important lesson I learned was that I know, or understand, the concept of orchestration pretty well. More than I thought I did anyway.

I have a blog where I’ll try to cover what I feel is of use to me, hopefully there is some use for you as well. The focus will be on virtual orchestra but “regular” plugins will be covered as well as tips, various software updates, book reviews and so forth. If you like something, feel free to comment, if you don’t like something, comment anyway.
